Onion the Elephant

To make this card I used an Onion the Elephant image from docrafts.  I have layered the backing papers on to some silver mirri board.  I also used some pale blue glitter card as the first mat.  You need to remember that when sticking to glitter card some adhesive won't work.  I always use Pinflair Glue Gel.
These flowers I found at the bottom of my embellishments so I 'plumped' the up and used them with a couple of flower headed pins to finish the look

The sentiment is one printed from my PC.

Bob the Builder

I have a few little boy birthdays coming up so I'm getting prepared.

Bob the builder!   I like this image of Bob and his whole team wishing you a happy birthday.

I couldn't add a flower or a bow so a button with some cord will do instead.

Thank You Flower

I have a couple of commission Thank You cards to make for a colleague at work.  This is one of them
Again I have tried to keep the card quite simple but striking.  The frame is cut using the cuttlebug and nestabilities Labels 3.  The flower is cut from a Marianne die and then layered up using PVA glue.  The leaves were mage using a small woodware punch.

The gems were originally clear but I coloured them using peel off markers.  This is such a good idea as you only need to buy clear gems and yet they will always match your project.  I just love these little flowers - again you can cut them from any colour paper.

Butterfly Thank You

For this card I have stayed with the Less is More concept.  I have used a Marianne Butterfly die and then I have stencilled through it with lilac chalk.  I have the lifted the wings.
I have used a large gem ( which I coloured using peel off markers ) and four smaller gems to highlight the body of the butterfly.  The peel off is one from Little claire in silver which i have coloured with the same colour peel off marker.

I like the way the chalk just gently highlights the butterfly image.

I like my blinging butterfly

Less is more - White on white

Another challenge from the Less is More team.  This week its white on white. YIKES!!!!!!!.
I started by cutting a frame using my cuttle bug with nestabilities label 3.  The flower I made using a Crafters Companion embossing board.  I embossed two different sizes of the flower, shaped the petals slightly and layered up using pinflair glue gel.  I couldn't resist the clear gem in the centre of the flower.

I'm not sure what occasion I would use this card for but I'm pleased with the end result.

Shopping!

Just the perfect card for a shopaholic!!!!
The image is a stamp I got free with a magazine and I coloured it using brush markers.  I matted it on to pale pink card and then on to a DL blank.  I added a white ribbon bow and a turquoise hat pin to finish.

I like the sentiment.  Its one I must remember when I win the lottery lol.

Granda Joe's new laptop

My FIL has just bought himself a new laptop so when we were making the Father's Day Cards we thought this design was just perfect for him.
The laptop image is matted on to stripy paper and then mounted on to gold mirri card and the adhered to a dark pearlescent brown A5 card blank.

Birthday Boys

I was clearing out my stamp drawer and came across these stamps still in their packaging.  I think they came free with a magazine, so I decided to put them to good use.
And another similar one in blue.

Watercolour scene

I would love to be able to draw and paint but thats not going to happen in a hurry.  Then I saw a lady called Jenny Mayes - I think that was her name - on Create and craft and she had a range of scenery stamps.  What she could do was amazing so I decided to give it a try.  I'll never know if I don't give it a go.  This is my first attempt.

Pretty Baby Girl

As I was clearing up my papers I found a couple of paper packs for a baby girl and baby boy.  I have quite a few friends pregnant at the minute so I thought I would be prepared and make a few cards.

The papers are a lovely soft pink and I just used a bit of gold mirri card to back them.

For a friend

I made this for a friend's birthday.  I have used some nesties with blue holographic board and some white card.  The white card shapes I have embossed using the swiss dots folder.  The paper flower is one I made myself using the Marianne designs flower die.  I used promarkers to colour it.  The ribbon is also coloured using promarkers and then as a finishing touch I have added some silver card candi.

I like using my nesties to layer up like this.  It makes a nice platform for my handmade flower.

Get Well Wishes

A cute get well wish.  I love these images which I printed from a docrafts CD.  It looks so cheerful.  The backing paper is a freebie I found on the internet so all in all a very nice inexpensive little card.

I like the silver card candy.  Its another new purchase that I'm using on most of my projects at the minute.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter Sunday.  Talk tomorrow.

Less is more - off centre

Still not really getting the hang of this less is more.  Not sure about this one.  I seem to have an awful lot of white space.  I'll get my thinking cap on and try again.
