Get well soon

just the perfect decoupage image to cheer up a little girl feeling under the weather.  A very simple card using some decoupage, matting and layering and a piece of ribbon.  The little sentiment is one I printed from the PC

Kitty looks very cute with her little bunch of flowers.

Baby boy

Another card I made using my 'found' papers.

I have just used some blue holographic board to highlight the little bunny image and added some ribbon across the card.

Pretty Baby Girl

As I was clearing up my papers I found a couple of paper packs for a baby girl and baby boy.  I have quite a few friends pregnant at the minute so I thought I would be prepared and make a few cards.

The papers are a lovely soft pink and I just used a bit of gold mirri card to back them.

For a friend

I made this for a friend's birthday.  I have used some nesties with blue holographic board and some white card.  The white card shapes I have embossed using the swiss dots folder.  The paper flower is one I made myself using the Marianne designs flower die.  I used promarkers to colour it.  The ribbon is also coloured using promarkers and then as a finishing touch I have added some silver card candi.

I like using my nesties to layer up like this.  It makes a nice platform for my handmade flower.

Get Well Wishes

A cute get well wish.  I love these images which I printed from a docrafts CD.  It looks so cheerful.  The backing paper is a freebie I found on the internet so all in all a very nice inexpensive little card.

I like the silver card candy.  Its another new purchase that I'm using on most of my projects at the minute.
I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter Sunday.  Talk tomorrow.

Distressed birthday

This is the birthday card I made for my father-in-law for his birthday.  I was using some pages from an old book and distress inks.  The topper was an image printed from the PC using a My craft studio CD

I really like this image.

My lovely goodies

I just love my nesties at the minute so I just had to treat myself to some more.

I was just home with my nesties when the delivery man brought my crafters companion enveloper and boxer board.  Can't wait to have some fun.

Less is more - off centre

Still not really getting the hang of this less is more.  Not sure about this one.  I seem to have an awful lot of white space.  I'll get my thinking cap on and try again.

Hello Kitty!

I made this card using an image from some sweetie packaging.  I was about to throw the box in the bin when I noticed all the lovely wee images.  Too good to throw away so I cut them all out.  I had 3 very small ones, 2 larger ones and 2 hearts with the Hello Kitty caption on.  When I went to make this card I discovered that I had only one image left.  My six year old daughter had been making some cards - guess where the images went.  At least I got to make one card.  I have quite a few little girl birthdays coming up so I need to be prepared

Isn't she cute.  Its no wonder that little girls love Hello Kitty.

Oh look!! More hatpins.  I really like these but I will put a blob of glue on each point before I give it to any children - just to be on the safe side.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

Little Car Card

A cute little car card for the kids to give to granda for Father's Day.  I used one of the fabric card blanks I had and then used a fabric card embellishment.  The sentiment is one I printed from the PC.

Wedding Wishes

I made this wedding card for a teacher at my kids school.  She is getting married over the Easter holidays.
I have used a very floral wedding topper which I glittered.  I printed it on to cream paper as the white seemed very harsh.  I made a little cream bow and added pink and cream hatpins.  The sentiment is just one I printed from my PC.

I think hatpins are going to be my new 'thing'

Distress inks.

Having a play with my distress inks.  I bought some stipling brushes on Saturday and I was just trying them out.  I found this stamp in a bargain bucket for 50p and I thought it would be useful so i made two very quick and easy cards - just in different colours.

Say it with flowers

I'm liking my fabric at the minute and here I have made a Thank You Card.  I really like the backgrounds and as you can see i'm still loving my little flowers.  I've something different lined up for tomorrow using some of the new items I got on Saturday at the show.

some birdy told me.....

Another little fabric card.  I also used some wire in the tail.  This is a really useful type card as I can make it a birthday card, thank you or so many other occasions.

LIM Acetate challenge

Another Less Is More card, this time using acetate.  I split a black pearlescent DL card and added a strip of white glittered acetate in between to make quite a long card.  I have kept the embellishments to a minimum with a small flower stamp and a tiny sentiment.  No gems this week.

Soooooo tired!!!

Had a brill day at the Kings Hall yesterday.  Spent far too much as usual but I bought alot of new stash that I can't wait to play with.  Just a quick wee card to share with you today.  I made it for a friend who has just had a baby.

I need to go now and motivate myself to do some ironing.  Wish me Luck!

I love this image and although you can't see from the picture, the card and elements are fabric coated card.  It makes it lovely and touchy feely.

Trying out different paper flowers

These flowers are made using a Marianne Design die and cutting out a petal each time and then layering up using glue gel.  I tried using PVA which works well to stick the petals but not so well for layering up.

The little red flower is made using the same Marianne Design die but instead of removing petals I have just shaped them and layered them up.  The red one is a Marianne Design as well but i usually only use this one for poinsettias at Christmas.

After all my fiddling and trial and error, my six year old daughter comes in from school and makes this one at her first attempt.  Well done Kerrie! You're putting your mummy to shame.

Less is More - 2nd attempt

Still not too sure about this 'less is more'.  I keep wanting to add ribbon and paper and flowers.  I have used a digi stamp from My Craft Studio and coloured the feather with a sakura souffle pen.

More purple flowers

I liked the style of yesterday's card so I made this quite similar one today.

I really like the verse on this topper and will be suitable for quite a few occasions

More Flowers

Two of my favourite thing at the minute.  Purple and flowers.  A very simple and easy card.
Using a white square card blank I have layered another panel inked around the edges with lilac ink.  I have added a deep purple chiffon ribbon.  The flower is made from a Crafters Companion embossing board.  I have shaped, inked and added a gem.

The sentiment comes from an old crafters companion that I recently found at the bottom of a drawer but it suits this card beautifully,

I have layered the flower on to a punched and embossed scallop circle of silver mirri card

I love the dimension of the flower.  Lorraine x

Monday 11 April 2011

cute little girl

I saw this image and immediately fell in love.  She is just beautiful with her little teddy.  It was just screaming to me to make a pink and girly card.
Using a cream square card I layered some background paper on to gold mirri card,  used some crepe paper on mirri card wrapped with pink ribbon.  I decoupaged the image on to some off white pearl card which I ran through the cuttlebug swiss dots.  I finished it off with a pink flower and leaves that I made and some cream roses from Create & Celebrate,

Look at that cute wee face.  Lorraine x

Quick Easel

Just a quick card today.  I kept the theme pink and flowery, it reminds me of spring and the weather has been really good lately.  I'm still loving my little paper flowers.

A couple of owls

I thought this image would be lovely for an anniversary card
I used an image from My Craft Studio and the flower is cut using a Marianne die and a large gem.  I'm really liking my flowers on all my cards at the mo.

I didn't realise until I posted this but the colours are a bit Christmassy.  That will be my next project I think.  Start early!!

Aqua & Brown

I made this for Crafters Companion Challenge of aqua & brown
I designed it on the PC  using My Craft Studio Papercraft Library Faith, Hope & Charity.  I'm still making paper flowers and using them on my cards and you always need some sparkles.
I love my flowers.
