Early Bird Christmas

I'm feeling Christmassy today.  It might have something to do with the reall rubbish weather we're having at the minute.  It's really cold today.
I like this Forever Friends image and rather than layer everything up on my card I have designed it all as a flat layer on the computer and then printed it off.  This will help reduce postage costs at Christmas.

Just for you

Sorry about no post yesterday.  I went to get out of bed and my back just 'popped'.  I couldn't straighten or bend, I just stood stooped over.  Many painkillers later I could walk a bit but nothing else.  This card I'm going to show you comes courtesy of NUROFEN. Hahahaha.
I used some images and paper from a docrafts CD rom I had.  I also used some gold mirri card to layer it on to.  See you tomorrow.

Another First Birthday

I thought I would make another card for Cathair just so his mum would have a choice.  This one is an easel card.
The image is one from the My Craft Studio Bunny Snuffles CD.  I added a background and some text.  The background stripy papers are from a crafter's companion CD, and the buttons are just some I had.

First Birthday

I made this for a colleague's little boy who will be one next month.
I have used papers and pyramage from Popcorn the Bear CD from Crafter's Companion.  I have matted them on to some textured gold mirri board.

The sentiment I made using alphabet peel offs coloured green with a peel off marker.  The clear gems were also coloured with the same pen.

Blowing Bubbles

I have rediscovered my Seraphina CD and it has some lovely images on it so I thought this one would make a perfect card for a little boy's birthday.
I printed off the background which I matted on to a cream card blank.  The little mouse image has been decoupaged to add depth and dimension.

I have used gems in different sizes to represent the bubbles.

Thanks

I have used a square card blank today to make this thank you card.
The card blank is covered with a pale green polka dot fabric.  I have then layered a doily - told you I liked these - as a base for my topper.

The topper is one from Kanban and I have decoupaged it up using foam pads.

As a finishing touch I layered a small PC generated sentiment on to mint glitter card and then silver card before finishing with some silver card candi.

Another of the same

I enjoyed making the card yesterday so much I thought I would try another one.  I'm liking my doilies, can you tell?
Again I started with a foiled card blank.  This time the frame I decoupaged up to add extra dimension.  The doily I edged with chalk.

The sentiment is one I printed from the PC.  I mounted it on to a little tag and then I added a silver card candi to each side

I quite like this style but I'll try something different tomorrow.

A different style

I thought I would try something a little bit different.  I always like to try new styles and each one is my new favourite for a while, so guess what?
I have used a foiled card blank to start with.  I have also used a doily which I edged with a soft gold chalk.  The topper and frame came from a kit I bought a while ago.  I finished it off with some card candi

I like the doily.  It came from a set of 74 in 3 different sizes I found in Poundland. Bargain!

Less is more - Butterflies

Another challenge from the LIM team.  Butterflies this week.  I didn't break out in as big a sweat this week.
This first attempt is using a butterfly digi stamp I had but I stamped it continuously to create a border and then just added a suitable stamp.

This is a little digi stamp I use quite a lot for thank you cards.  Again I just added a little sentiment to finish off.

This one I have stamped a flourish corner and a butterfly.  After colouring the butterfly I added some butterfly trails with a sakura gel pen.

Just for you Seraphina

I used a topper from a Seraphina CD and mounted it onto some pale blue glitter card.  The sentiment has been printed from the PC.  The ribbon was white but I coloured it with a purple ProMarker.  I added a bow from the same coloured ribbon.

Monochrome Westie

This was a little topper I found lying at the bottom of a drawer and I decided to use it as the focal point on a monochrome card.  The black spotty paper is a free paper I found online.  The black and white strips are just scraps I had lying about.

The flower has been embossed using a Crafter's Companion embossing board and then highlighted with a gem.

I love these flowers

Another baby boy card.

A very simple card using blue gingham paper, glitter card and this lovely topper.  This topper is from a scrapbook kit I got a while ago and forgot about.
how cute!

Can you tell I,m liking Souffle the Duck?

I printed off a baby verse and edged it with blue gingham and silver peel offs

Special Day Cupcake

I made this card for a friend's birthday.  A friend who loves cake!!!
I used a cream card as my base and layered up some matching papers on to gold mirri card.  The sentiment has been produced on my PC.

I have used clear gems coloured with peel off markers to high light the sprinkles on the cup cake.

Thank You Stepper card

I was looking through some CD's I had and I discovered Souffle the duck from Crafter's Companion.  How cute is he!
I used a pyramage topper for the main part of the card.  Its a lovely image of Souffle holding a flower.
Then on the 'steps' fo the card I have layered some co-ordinating papers and then I have used some single images of souffle.

The little 'Just for You' sentiment has been printed off from my PC.

On the back I have added a matching insert panel just to finish it off.

Less is more - embossing

Another card for the LIM challenge.  This week it's embossing.
I have used a freebie stamp set from a magazine.  I have stamped directly onto white pearlescent card using Versa Mark and sprinkled with ultra fine embossing powder which I heated from behind.
To add some colour I have used brush markers and a waterbrush to achieve the watercoloured look.

Wedding Day Wishes

This card is very similar to one I made last month.  I was commissioned to make this one with just a little alteration - no decorative pins and coloured ribbon instead of white.
The image is printed on to cream super smooth paper and I have glittered some little highlights.  The sentiment was printed from the PC but as it was white I coloured it with Ivory Promarker.
The ribbon bow was also white and I used promarkers Blush & Ivory to blend it in.  I have matted the main image on to gold mirri board and then pale pink glitter card again using Pinflair gel.

Reap what you sow

I saw this image and verse on a CD of mine and I thought what a lovely card it would make.
The only thing I did to the image was to add some glitter highlights to her wings and her halo.

So sweet!

Onion the Elephant

To make this card I used an Onion the Elephant image from docrafts.  I have layered the backing papers on to some silver mirri board.  I also used some pale blue glitter card as the first mat.  You need to remember that when sticking to glitter card some adhesive won't work.  I always use Pinflair Glue Gel.
These flowers I found at the bottom of my embellishments so I 'plumped' the up and used them with a couple of flower headed pins to finish the look

The sentiment is one printed from my PC.

Bob the Builder

I have a few little boy birthdays coming up so I'm getting prepared.

Bob the builder!   I like this image of Bob and his whole team wishing you a happy birthday.

I couldn't add a flower or a bow so a button with some cord will do instead.

Thank You Flower

I have a couple of commission Thank You cards to make for a colleague at work.  This is one of them
Again I have tried to keep the card quite simple but striking.  The frame is cut using the cuttlebug and nestabilities Labels 3.  The flower is cut from a Marianne die and then layered up using PVA glue.  The leaves were mage using a small woodware punch.

The gems were originally clear but I coloured them using peel off markers.  This is such a good idea as you only need to buy clear gems and yet they will always match your project.  I just love these little flowers - again you can cut them from any colour paper.

Butterfly Thank You

For this card I have stayed with the Less is More concept.  I have used a Marianne Butterfly die and then I have stencilled through it with lilac chalk.  I have the lifted the wings.
I have used a large gem ( which I coloured using peel off markers ) and four smaller gems to highlight the body of the butterfly.  The peel off is one from Little claire in silver which i have coloured with the same colour peel off marker.

I like the way the chalk just gently highlights the butterfly image.

I like my blinging butterfly

Less is more - White on white

Another challenge from the Less is More team.  This week its white on white. YIKES!!!!!!!.
I started by cutting a frame using my cuttle bug with nestabilities label 3.  The flower I made using a Crafters Companion embossing board.  I embossed two different sizes of the flower, shaped the petals slightly and layered up using pinflair glue gel.  I couldn't resist the clear gem in the centre of the flower.

I'm not sure what occasion I would use this card for but I'm pleased with the end result.
